Hands-on innovation in wind uplift protection

What trade professionals can expect from FOS at DACH+HOLZ 2026 in Cologne

FOS DACH+HOLZ Storm? For sure!Anyone looking for practical solutions to make wind uplift protection more efficient at DACH+HOLZ International 2026 will find clear answers at Friedrich Ossenberg-Schule GmbH + Co KG (FOS®). From 24 to 27 February, the company will be demonstrating in Hall 6, Stand 6.309 how storm protection on pitched roofs and facades can be implemented in a noticeably simpler, faster and safer way.

The focus of the trade fair appearance is on collated storm clips and digital planning tools that support roofing and facade professionals directly in their day-to-day work – from selecting the right clip through to installation in compliance with technical rules.

A key topic at the stand is collated storm clips on plastic strips. Each strip holds 25 clips and is designed for use with the FOS ClipHOLSTER®. For roofing professionals, this means:

  • faster access

  • reduced risk of injury

  • noticeably quicker installation of clips

“Many conversations on site today revolve around time pressure, labour shortages and safe workflows,” says Matthias Bayer, Head of Sales and Marketing at FOS®. “This is exactly where our collated systems come in: they simplify handling, increase safety and help to implement wind uplift protection efficiently and in line with the rules.”

FOS batten hooksWind uplift protection for facades – functional and virtually invisible
FOS is also presenting practical solutions for façades. The range includes a wide selection of collated facade hooks for fibre-cement panels and slate, suitable for different formats and laying patterns. Particular attention is given to black-coated stainless steel hooks that blend almost invisibly into the façade while still providing reliable protection against wind uplift.

FOS 512 Product of the Year 2025Wind uplift protection for cut tiles – at hips and valleys
Another focal point at the stand is the optimised hip and valley clips from FOS®. At the display stand, roofing professionals can see the correct installation of cut roof tiles at hips and valleys directly on the exhibits – clearly demonstrated and close to real practice.

According to the rules of the German roofing trade, cut tiles such as triangular infill pieces must be mechanically secured against slipping. The FOS hip and valley clips 512 and 513 provide a safe, universally applicable solution for this purpose – suitable for both roof tiles and beaver tail tiles. With beaver tail tiles, the 513 can also take over the function of the cut-off nib.

Thanks to four collars and two claws, both clips ensure a secure hold even on uneven surfaces or on roof tiles with embossed lettering on the reverse side. There is no need to drill through cut tiles, allowing for short installation times and material-friendly fixing.
The clips are available either:

  • as the 512 with stainless steel perforated strip and integrated SPAX® screw, or

  • as the 513 with fixing wire for hips and valleys.

Instead of several variants, a new version now covers the entire clamping range from 7 to 22 mm.

Digital tools: planning reliability before installation
In addition to the products, visitors can explore the free online tools from FOS that support planning and execution:

  • FOS WindCHECK® for wind uplift calculation and selection of suitable clip types (including Germany, Austria and Poland)

  • FOS ClipCHECK® for quick product selection

  • FOS CombiCHECK® to check which applications existing clips can already be used for

The tools provide information on laying patterns, zoning and required quantities, helping to save time, material and costs.

Dialogue at eye level
For many visitors, personal exchange is key. At the FOS® stand, specialists from sales and application engineering will be on hand to discuss practical questions, present tailored solutions and demonstrate the systems live. But there’s also plenty of fun to be had: in a round of clip pong, everyone can put their skills to the test!
