Sustainability at FOS® is not a trend, but a lived responsibility. For many years, the manufacturer of fastening systems for pitched roofs has pursued a conscious approach to resource use – with measurable results.
The stainless steels and wires processed into FOS® clips contain recycled content of up to 90 percent. Aluminium also features a high recycled content, ranging from 30 to 70 percent depending on the alloy. Packaging is already made from 100 percent recycled cardboard. This enables FOS® to make a meaningful contribution to the circular economy – from raw material to shipping packaging.
At FOS®, the use of materials with a high recycled content is not driven by cost considerations, but by conviction. High-quality recycled steels are technically demanding and offer no price advantage over primary materials, yet they meet the highest requirements in terms of quality, safety and durability.
“We want to demonstrate that top-level technical quality and responsible business practices are not mutually exclusive,” explains authorised officer Matthias Bayer. “Most of our supply partners work with high recycled content, which significantly reduces the ecological footprint of our products.”
This responsible use of materials is complemented by regional supply chains, production exclusively in Germany, and ongoing investment in energy-efficient and climate-friendly manufacturing processes. These include the use of renewable energy, waste heat recovery and photovoltaic systems. FOS® also consistently relies on solid cardboard packaging with a high recycled content and full recyclability.
“Made from responsibility” stands at FOS® for the commitment to making sustainability measurable and to developing it further in the long term. Anyone choosing storm clips, façade clips, ridge and PV clips from FOS® is opting not only for safety, but also for a responsible use of resources.
