For 2025, the Interzero “resources SAVED” certificate reports a calculated contribution by FOS® to climate and resource protection: according to the calculation stated in the certificate, the recycling of recyclable materials resulted in savings of 494 tonnes of primary resources and 43,421 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions.
How to interpret the Interzero figures
The figures provide a clear indication of the impact of recycling during the period under review. However, it is important to put them into context: these are calculated savings based on the methodology specified in the Interzero certificate – not a measured Product Carbon Footprint or FOS®’s complete carbon footprint.
Packaging take-back as part of resource conservation
FOS® works with Interzero for registered transport packaging and commercial sales packaging. This packaging is collected and recycled, where technically possible and economically reasonable. In addition, FOS® uses cardboard made from 100% recycled material for the relevant registered cardboard packaging.
Resource conservation at FOS®
In addition to packaging take-back, FOS® uses materials with high recycled content and invests in photovoltaics, air-source heat pumps and waste heat recovery, among other measures. The specific figures and measures are brought together on the central sustainability page.
