A total of 53,200 visitors attended NordBau 2026 in Neumünster from 9 to 13 September. FOS® once again exhibited alongside Dach-Baustoff-Agentur Schölzel – continuing a partnership at the trade fair that now spans 25 years. Matthias Bayer, Head of Sales and Marketing, and Ronald Melzer, Technical Customer Advisor at FOS®, used the five days of the fair primarily to exchange ideas and experiences with roofing professionals and specialist distributors on wind uplift protection and reliable solutions for everyday roofing practice.
A regular meeting point for 25 years
The 71st NordBau concluded with an increase in visitor numbers. According to the organiser, 53,200 visitors attended the event at the Holstenhallen Neumünster, compared with 50,300 the previous year. More than 700 exhibitors presented products and services for the construction industry.
FOS® exhibited in Hall 5 at the stand of Dach-Baustoff-Agentur Schölzel. The two companies have now shared a presence at the trade fair for 25 years. According to Stefan Schölzel, owner of Dach-Baustoff-Agentur Schölzel and FOS® sales representative, visitors have clearly come to appreciate this continuity: “After all these years of continuity, people no longer have to look for us at the fair. They know where we are, and we can get straight into conversation.”
Sharing knowledge – and learning from practical experience
For FOS®, these conversations are a key part of the trade fair. “FOS® has now been present at the Dach-Baustoff-Agentur Schölzel stand at NordBau for 25 years. Up here in northern Germany, the fair gives us an excellent opportunity to talk to roofing professionals of all ages. We are always happy to share our expertise in wind uplift protection – but, in return, we learn at least as much from the people who visit our stand,” says Matthias Bayer.
Which solutions prove themselves in everyday use on site? Where do questions arise when selecting or installing storm clips? And what requirements are roofing businesses currently facing? The conversations at NordBau give FOS® direct insight into everyday work on the roof and provide valuable input for the further development of products and services.
Focus on cut roof tiles
One of the main topics at the stand was the 512-100 and 513-100 ridge and valley clips for securing cut roof tiles, concrete roof tiles and beaver-tail tiles at hips and valleys. Both versions cover a clamping range of 7 to 22 mm. Thanks to their new barbed hook geometry, they provide 20% more holding power than comparable clips, according to FOS®. For material thicknesses of up to 16 mm, the clips can be fitted without a hammer.
Feedback received directly at the stand demonstrated just how important ease of installation is in everyday roofing work. One roofer described his experience with the two clips: “We now only use the two FOS® versions for cut pieces because they simply provide the strongest hold without having to roughen the surface.”
The FOS® team also provided information on collated storm clips used with the ClipHOLSTER, as well as digital tools for product selection and planning.
Personal dialogue remains important
For FOS®, NordBau has once again demonstrated, even after 25 years, the importance of direct contact between manufacturers, specialist distributors and roofing professionals. Digital calculation and selection tools can support planning. However, the challenges that actually arise on site – and how well solutions perform in everyday installation – often only become clear through personal dialogue.
The next NordBau will take place from 8 to 12 September 2027 at the Holstenhallen Neumünster.
