At our Hemer site, we’ve installed a new photovoltaic system with 116 modules. With a total output of 52 kWp, it will enable us to cover a large share of our electricity needs in-house. Thanks to its east–west orientation, energy generation is distributed evenly throughout the day – allowing us to produce power sustainably even in the morning and evening hours. The system generates around 44,000 kWh per year, of which roughly 75 % is used directly on site. This not only reduces our CO₂ emissions but also increases our energy independence.

The installation is part of our 10-point plan for sustainable business practices and climate neutrality. At FOS, we take a holistic approach to sustainability: our products are made from single-grade, fully recyclable materials such as aluminium and steel. Our packaging is also 100 % recyclable and made from environmentally friendly solid cardboard.
We manufacture exclusively in Germany, prefer regional suppliers within a 100 km radius, and are committed to fair working conditions and social engagement in our local communities. Heat is generated through air-source heat pumps and waste-heat recovery, while electricity comes from renewable sources.
Our sustainability efforts are independently verified by EcoVadis certification – and with the new PV system, we are taking another consistent step towards a climate-friendly future.
