FOS® invests in photovoltaics at its Hemer site

52 kWp system generates around 44,000 kWh of solar power per year

FOS® has installed a photovoltaic system comprising 116 modules with a capacity of 52 kWp at its Hemer site. According to the available system data, the annual yield is around 44,000 kWh. Approximately 75% of the solar power generated is used directly within the company's own operations.

Solar power for production in Hemer
Thanks to its east-west orientation, electricity generation is spread throughout the day. As a result, the system also generates solar power during the morning and evening hours. With its high level of self-consumption, FOS® reduces the amount of electricity drawn from the grid and increases the proportion of self-generated renewable electricity used at the site.

The photovoltaic system is one of several measures through which FOS® is taking practical action on resource and energy use within the company. These also include air-source heat pumps and waste heat recovery, materials with high recycled content, as well as the collection and recycling of registered transport packaging through Interzero.

FOS® also uses recycled materials for its packaging: the cardboard packaging covered by the relevant data is made from 100% recycled cardboard.
